In the aerospace industry, stretch forming of heat-treatable aluminium sheet is a widelyrnused forming method. Simulation of the stretch forming process with FEM is helpful tornpredict the strain distribution in complex products, to find out the limits of the formingrnprocess, and to optimize the amount of strain in each step. Therefore, tensile tests arerncarried out to determine the influence of intermediate annealing in combination withrnstraining steps on the mechanical properties of AA2024 T3. Since multiple stretching stepsrnwith intermediate annealing can influence the grain size and cause visible defects, therndevelopment of the grain size in AA2024 T3 is also studied.
