The deposition a nd accum ulation of am yloid-p-peptide (Aβ) in the brain are considered a pat hological hal lmark of Alzheimer's disease(AD). Apoptosis is a co ntributing pat hophysiological m echanism of AD. L ow-power laser irradiation (LPLI), a non-damage physical therapy, which has been used clinically for deca des of years, is shown t o promote cell proliferation a nd prevent a poptosis. Recently, lo w-power laser irradiation (LPLI) has bee n a pplied to moderate AD. In this study, Rat pheochromocytoma (PC12) cells were treated with amyloid beta 25-35 (Aβ_(25-35)) for induction of apoptosis before LPLI treatment. We measured cell viability with CCK-8 according to the manufacture's protocol, the cell viability assays show that low fluence of LPLI (2 J/cm~2) could inhibit the cells apoptosis. Then using statistical an alysis o f proportion of apo ptotic cells b y flow cy tometry base d on Annexin V -FITC/PI, t he assay s al so reveal that low fluence of LPLI (2 J/cm~2) could inhibit the A|3-induced cell apoptosis. Taken together, we demonstrated that low fluence of L PLI (2 J/cm ~2) coul d i nhibit t he A P-induced eel 1 ap optosis, t hese res ults directly poi nt t o a therapeutic strategy for the treatment of AD through LPLI.
