The paper presents problems related to mainagemdent of lignite deposits with complicated geologicla structure and located in an urban and industrialized region.The new tehnological solutions related to removal,transport and disposal of overburden are illustrated.The problems involved in management of lignifte quality ocming form a new mines to two powr plants are discussed a sthe the problems involved in utilizaiton of the abandoned lignite pits for industrial and municipal purposes.
