摘要

A liquid hydrogen propelled test vehicle is designed, built and flight tested to excersise the good-operability aspects both on the ground and in flight. For achieving the technical readiness of the future space transportation systems, design considerations not only for the higher-performance-related issues but also those for the good operability are quite important. The test vehicle with liquid hydrogen rocket engine offered an environment to learn how the reusable vehicles be designed in the coming future. A demonstration of vertical landing flight capability and an exercise of the turnaround operation of the repeated flight are the major objectives of the test vehicle. Two flights were performed succeedingly and the flight test operation gave many experiences in designing the fully reusable rocket vehicle.
