Present accepted methods for analysis of aqueous ozone residuals are subject to sensitivity and selectivity interferences common in many waters and wastewaters. Ampero-metric analysis methods are discussed, and a new method for ozone analysis is proposed, utilizing an amperometric membrane electrode.rnA large positive or anodic voltage and a microporous fluorocarbon membrane provide the experimental electrode with a high selectivity for ozone. Data analysis indicates a linear relationship between probe current and aqueous ozone concentration, but parameters differ for various experimental situations. Full development of this method would insure a continuous, in_ situ, accurate and reliable method to determine ozone residuals.
