Digital Light processing(DLP) projection technology, based on the Digital Micromirror Device light modulator is currently used in a wide variety of display applications to create high quality imagery. In this paper we present an overview of the electronics architecture of a DLP technology based projector. Descriptions of the DMD modulator drive methods and data formatting electronics are presented, as well as a brief summary of the video and graphics processing architectures.
