NEDO has been conducting the "Developmentof Drilling and Production Technology for Deep-seatedGeothermal Resources" project since1994. The contents of the project can be dividedinto two categories: development of drillingtechnology and development of productiontechnology. This paper outlines the progress ofproduction technology development.Some production technologies have reached thestage of field testing, and others are in themanufacturing stage after the completion ofbasic research. All of the productiontechnologies being developed in this project areexpected to be useful not only for deep-seatedgeothermal resources, but also for high-temperatureshallow geothermal reservoirs.
