摘要

A reliable electromagnetic (EM) means ofdetecting and delineating geothermal fracturesystems would facilitate geothermal reservoirdevelopment. To this end, there have been rapidadvances in our geophysical capability to gatherextensive electromagnetic data sets and togenerate elaborate numerical simulationsmapping electrical conductivity distributions toelectromagnetic field responses. However, thenonuniqueness of electromagneticinterpretations requires that formalinterpretations of EM field data be conditionedby geological constraints. Indeed, the electricalconductivity expression of a fault is far fromintuitive and must be based on geologicalinvestigations.
