摘要

The COG burning facilities described herein and their operation are proving practical and economical for both GLD and Detroit Edison. When the system for No. 3 Boiler is completed in June 1994, Detroit Edison will have the capability to burn GLD's excess COG gas in either or both the River Rouge Power Plant's operating boilers. In the event that a utility is in a geographical location near a steel making facility, large pulverized coal fired boilers can be successfully retrofitted at a reasonable cost to burn both COG and BFG gases as supplemental fuels. The COG burning facilities described herein represent another milestone in the Company's continuing effort to work with its large industrial customers to reduce overall power costs while still meeting all environmental limitations for the benefit of its customers, shareholders and general public.
