Transportation agencies take many precautions today, just as the utilities do, in trying to maintain efficient commodity distribution. However, if the transportation agencies are affected the same way utility agencies are - that inefficient or ineffective system management adversely affects the system operation and revenue stream of the agency - then possibly freeway traffic flow during the peak periods would flow smoother. Transportation agencies need to strive to exercise the same care and concern of the utilities in order to be able to expedite vehicular flow on their freeways.
