The prepared composite membrane consists of a ceramic support tube with micropores, a γ-Al_2O_3 transition layer with mean pore diameter of 1.77 nm and a dense Pd film. The properties of permeation for H_2-N_2 gas mixture in this kind of composite membrane were observed experimentally. For the transition layer, the gas separation selectivities of mixture H_2-N_2 are less than the value of ideal Knudsen separation factor; while those for the Pd-composite membrane are much higher.
