摘要

The effect was investigated of properties of additives on the characteristics of chemically assisted dry comminuted sericite powder, a kind of clay minerals. Chemically assisted dry comminution(CADC) is a comminution method, in which powder A is first mixed with other powder B, followed by being comminuted in a dry condition. Sericite obtained by CADC using various salts like nitrates as powder B had larger specific surface area than by an ordinary dry comminution(DC). At the same time sericite by CADC had lower content of impurities than by DC. CADC using various salts like nitrates, acetates, chlorides, mixed salts and salts with different crystallinity was conducted for the purpose of elucidating which properties of the salts gave an significant influence on the characteristics of sericite comminuted by CADC. The kind of salts, melting temperature and crystallinity of the salts were found to be key factors for CADC.
