Fe/N ultra fine powder is prepared by the method of one-step gas-phase synthesis, using FeCl_2 and NH_3 as raw materials. And γ'-Fe_4N ultra fine powder is prepared by trwice-nitriding the powder above. The processing and technique of preparing nitrided iron ultrafine powder by trwice-nitriding method was studied. Results show that γ'-Fe_4N can be producted. The physical properties of Fe/N and γ' -Fe_4N powder, such as crystalline state, physical phase, shape, chemical composition and magnetic properties, is charactized by means of XRD, TEM, XPS, VSM etc.. The Experiment results show that γ' -Fe_4N powder prepared by twice-nitriding is high pure, ultrafine and single phase. And the value of saturation magnetic susceptibility σ_s and coercive force H_c of this powder is preferable to Takuo Tanaka's corresponding study results.
