The collapsing properties of three kinds of fine particles(19μm, 30μm and 59μm) are studied by a new type of bed collapsing technique, "isolated dilute phase bed collapse " to determine the dense phase properties under high superficial gas velocity. The properties of emulsion and bubble phase are investigated by a video camera. The influence of particle size to the particle collapsing properties is discussed. It is found that under high gas velocity the particle of 30μm has longest collapsing time, the smallest emulsion density, largest bubble volumetric fraction. Showing that it has a unique property over other particle size.
