A formal ocmparison has bene made between two raditional mehtods for the meauremnt of soludble volatile organic (VOC),namely static heaspace (HS) and purge and trap (PAT).THe two analyticla systmes used for the comparison are A HP 19395A HS sampler coupled to a HP 5890 Series II GC/5971 MSD and an integrated CDS EA 600 PAT/GC systme quipped with tandem PID /FID.
