Negative Flux Rate Trip (NFRT) could be eliminated for a PWR of Westinghouse's type when the plant operates in Mode A. It is realized by demonstrting that the DNB Design Basis is met during the course of the dropped Rod Cluster Control Assembly (RCCA) transient (i.e., one or more dropped rods) which is anlayzed without taking credit for the direct reactor trip triggered by the high Negative Flux Rate signal
