In this study the distinction is made between relative GPS (RGPS) and differential GPS (DGPS). Both of these terms imply a transfer of information from a referencereceiver to an active receiver. Expressions for the errors associated with three different data transfer "formats" are derived. A numerical evaluation of the errors associated with one of these formats is made.
