The Seismic Proving Test on Reactor Shutdown Cooling Systems was conducted to confirm the integrity of system functions required during earthquakes. The tests were completed in February 1994 using the shaking table at Tadotsu Engineering Laboratory of NUPEC. As the results of the tests, it was found that pressure pulsation resulting from pressure response wave in piping systems was caused by excitation. However, there were no problems with maintaining system functions up to 1.5 times of the S_2 input wave, which was generated to envelope the response spectrum of each floor on which was generated to envelope the response spectrum of each floor on which the system facilities and components are installed.
