The CaO rich fused magnesia-graphite bricks are manufactured by taking the CaO rich fused magnesia (CaO up to 10percent, MgO + CaO >= 98percent) and flake graphite as raw materials, and a non-aqueous resin as binder. The bricks are applied to the slagline of a 150t LF-VD refining ladle. The average service life of 20 heats has been got and is 0.6 approx 1 time higher than that of MgO-C bricks. The service life of the bricks synchronizes with that of Al_2O_3-MgO-C bricks used in the lining below the slagline of the refining ladle.
