Cycling performance of metal hydride-air recargeable cells

In previous work (1-3), we demonstrated a rechargeable (secondary) metal hdride-air cell and presented some initial result, which were encouraging. The principle advantage of this sytem is the use of a gas diffusion air cathode, which results in no cathode capacity limitations. In conrast to systems described earlier (4), the bifunctional air gas diffusiion electrode eliminates the need for a third (charging) electrode. These advantages make the system of interest as a power source for portable low-power applications. In this work, data obained in testing an imporved metal hydride-air rechnargeable cell with a larger working area are presented. They include cycling performance.
