In commercial battery applications the metal hydride technology has had a real brakthough in the last few years. Though they are also very promising, solid sorption machines based on hydride forming intermetallic compounds did not reach that point yet. One of the impediments we have to deal with is the lack of cycling stability of numerous alloys when they are cycled a million times during the ifetime of a metal hydride based solid sorption device.
