摘要

Poly (trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT) is an emerging new commercial polyester being marketed by Shell Chemicals. Nonwovens have been produced from carded poly (trimethylene terephthalate) staple through the use of bonding techniques such as hyroentanglement, thermal bonding and needle punch. Comparisons in physical properties such as tear strength, tensile strength, bending modulus and compression recovery were made between PTT and the common nonwoven materials such as poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET), polyamide (Nylon 6) and blends thereof. PTT fibers provide unique advantages in the rapidly growing hydroentangled fabric arena.
