摘要

Hydroelectricity is the most important renewable resource for electrical supplying in 150 countries, producing clean energy at competitive prices. The world-installed power is 700,000 MW, generating 2,600 TWh/year, which means the 19 percent of the electricity production. 50 percent of this power is located in Europe and the USA. In Latin-America it has an increasing degree of application, reaching nowadays the 10.2 percent of the total offering of primary energy, against 394 percent of petrol, 33.9 percent of natural gas and 1.6 percent nuclear energy. In Argentina, hydroelectricity contributes with the 43 percent of the total amount by the operation of 34 plants.
