摘要

This paper provides a guide to the development of National, :Local and specific SystemArchitectures from the European ITS Framework Architecture, otherwise known as theKAREN Architecture. The background to the development of this Architecture is brieflydiscussed and is followed by a description of a general architecture development process. Thesteps that must be followed to develop a particular Architecture are then explained. Thesesteps contain advice on how to use the KAREN Architecture and tools, as well as how thedeveloped Architecture can be enhanced to suit particular circumstances. The possibility ofusing the Object Oriented (OO) architecture development method for developments from theKAREN Architecture is also briefly discussed.
