An enormous amount of intelligent solutions are being created with "Intelligent TransportSystems". Very little, though, with what may be the most obvious to arrive at the magicformula of "more mobility and less traffic". Yet, there is one such measure: to convert solodriversinto car-poolers. Obviously, ITS will not do the trick on its own. But when otherdecisive elements are cleverly integrated - communications, safety, e-payment - a new type of"public transport system" could result.The presentation summarizes some of the ingredients that have to go into a rejuvenatedsuccessful carpooling operation. Remember: more passengers are being transported in cars(not counting the drivers!) than by "traditional" public transport. So why not create a newtype of public transport by converting some of the private cars?
