It is the advancement of the navigation system among the nine ITS areas in Japan where apublic mobile telecommunications operator can make the most contributions. The amount ofinformation that can be provided by the IMT-2000 communications network will be far morevoluminous compared to that of what can be provided by the conventional network. On theother hand, various information technologies are being introduced to car systems, and in thisprocess several local area networks and busses are to be established in the car.This paper will attempt to discuss an insight into how the telecommunications system,which is going to become even more advanced in the future, should align itself with thesystem in the car.
