This paper describes the requirements, development, testing, and validation of a hardware-in-the-loop simulator for a recoverable spacecraft, Roton. Roton is a piloted, SIngle Stage to Orbit (SSTO) spacecraft than uses a rotor with tip rockets for final descent and landing.
