The recognition of certain textures in the fluorite ores of the carbonatite-related fluorspar deposits at the Okorusu mine, north-central Namibia can provide important keys to the prediction of beneficiation problems. The fluorspar ores formed dominantly by the replacement of a variety of igneous and metamorphic host rocks. Relict textures shown by the resulting replacement fluorspar ores are characteristic of the replaced host rocks and provide the basis for understanding the cause of important beneficiation problems.
