The evolution of the structure in the preliminary (α+β)-field deformed two-phase titanium alloy VT22 was investigated in the process of annealing at T=840°C (T_(pt)-30°C). Depending on conditions of preliminary deformation the changes occurring in the structure during annealing can be conditioned both by the occurrence of in-situ recrystallization and the discontinuous one. In the case of discontinuous recrystallization the features of the inherited influence of initial b-grains on microstructure background are suppressed completely. The investigation of mechanical properties of the VT22 alloy with polygonized and recrystallized microstructure revealed the advantage of the latter in respect to characteristics of ductility and fatigue with values of strength being similar.
