Simply supported rectangular plates are known as one of the simplest structural elements. Analytical solutions are available for such plates. However, simply supported rectangular plates with internal supports generally do not allow analytical solutions, even if it is only a central point support. In this paper, vibration analysis of simply supported rectangular plates with internal line/partial line supports is performed by using the discrete singular convolution (DSC) method. Seven distinct types of internal supports are considered. The reliability and robustness of the DSC method are verified through convergence and comparison studies.
