We present a SEM (structural equations modeling) based analysis of Schonberger's (1982)original Just-in-time (JIT) model and a revision of Schonberger's model, based on pre-existingresearch. Analysis of data from three industries and five countries provides evidence supportingmost of the relationships proposed by Schonberger and provides insights into how specific JITand Total Quality Management (TQM) practices affect specific manufacturing performanceobjectives.
