Hyperspectral data characteristic was analyzed in terms of MAIS imaging spectrometerdata acquired in Lunancheng, Hebei Province. It was found that the data can be distinctively dividedinto 3 groups according to band-band correlation. Based on this characteristic, band index was given,and together with wheat biophysical characteristics, the best bands were chosen. The Fuzzy-ArtmapClassifier was used with the best bands to classify the test imaging spectrometer data. Four kinds ofwheat types were identified and the overall classification accuracy is better than 97%.
