This paper surveys the field test projects on Photovoltaic (PV) power generation which have been conducted since FY 1992 as the collaborative researches of NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) and industry in Japan. NEDO is the public organization for promoting industrial, environmental, new energy and energy conservation technologies. The purposes of this paper are to review the achievement of the field test projects and discuss their future direction for further expanding the use of PV power generation in Japan.
