In photovoltaic system connected to the grid, the main goal is to control the power that the inverter injects tothe grid from the energy provided by the photovoltaic generator. In this paper is proposed, a digital implementation of a newcontrol strategy for a photovoltaic system connected to the grid based on the digital pulse-width modulation (DSPWM)which can synchronise a sinusoidal current output with a grid voltage and generate power at unity power factor. This controlis based on the use of PWM patterns previously calculated and tabulated applied to a constant DC bus voltage. Acting on theamplitude modulation index as control parameter, the output current amplitude injected to the grid can be controlled. Thiscontrol has been implemented in a FPGA and it has been validated with the detailed analysis, simulation and experimentalresults.
