摘要

The ability to isolate the individual stereochemical isomers of the cyclic methylphenylsiloxanes provides one with novel siloxane monomers for the preparation of block copolymers. For the case of the kinetically controlled anionic ring-opening polymerization of the cyclic trimers, one is able to synthesize poly(styrene-b-methylphenylsiloxane) (PS-b-PMPS) diblock copolymers of well defined composition and structure. Herein we describe an investigation of the application of PS-b-PMPS as a surfactant for the dispersion polymerization of styrene in supercritical carbon dioxide.
