Tetrahydropyranly-adriamycin (THP) or pirarubicin efficiently formed nanosized micelles with amphiphilic copoly(styrene-maleic acid) (SMA), which exhibited macromolecular characteristics, and thus could exploit EPR-effect to target tumor tissues selectively. We demonstrate here its in-vivo anticancer potential in colorectal cancer liver metastasis model and its effect in combination with hyperbaric oxygen (HBO).
