Topical formulations of FGF-2 were applied to punch biopsy wounds in rats. Each wound received 0.3 ug FGF-2 as a solution, hypromellose gel or hypromellose film on Melolin~(TM) backing. Following either two, five or eight hours the wounds were dissected and then analysed at different depths for FGF-2 concentration.
