In Canada, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) is charged with the responsibility of protecting theoffshore fishery. Fisheries patrol routing involves routing one or more patrol vessels over a network of fishinggrounds to maximize the deterrent effect of the patrol effort subject to trip length and/or budget constraints. Thispaper develops a model for routing a multi-unit surveillance fleet through a set of fish stocks. The decisionproblem is formulated as a 0-1 integer programming model. Computational results for a real problem setting areprovided.
