In recent years, automatic identification systems have become very popular in many industries,(purchasing, logistics, manufacturing…) and sectors (automotive, aerospace, retail…) [1]. Barcode labelswere a revolution in identification systems some time ago, but nowadays don’t fit properly to a highernumber of cases. The main advantage of barcodes is its low cost, but on the contrary the disadvantagesare its low storage capacity and the lack of capacity to be reprogrammed. RFID tags attached to baggageoffer a higher quality information and real-time tracking across the airport, from the terminal to theaircraft, increasing the efficiency, accuracy, reliability and security of handling operations.
