China' s citrus market and trade is facing enormous challenges in the process of its accession to the WTO, which has been a concern to the whole society. At first, people generally believed that China' s accession to the WTO would bring huge impact on the citrus industry. In this paper a systematic review is present of China' s citrus trade, import and export, production and market structure after China ' s accession to the WTO. Using the method of analyzing the economic efficiency of import and export, the changes in Chinese citrus import and export efficiency in five years right after the accession to the WTO are presented. The active trade is caused by a constellation of factors, such as economy, natural resources and public factors. As the largest citrus grower and producer, China must clearly know the pattern of its citrus imports and exports, and find out the trend of its foreign trade efficiency. Only in this way, it can find effective measures to draw on the advantages and avoid disadvantages in order to benefit both international market and the national citrus industry.
