Tumor selective drug delivery (EPR-effect)was further enhanced by applying nitroglycerin(NG) ointment in breast cancer induced bychemical carcinogen (DMBA) in rats, and othertransplanted mouse tumors. The increase ofdrug delivery into these solid tumors was 2-3fold more than that without NG. NG showed noincrease of apparent toxicity, while a significantincrease of therapeutic effect was seen incombination therapy with NG and anticanceragents in these rodent tumor models.
