Thermosensitive hydrogels based on methacrylatedppoly(N-(2-h oly(hydroxyp ydroxypropyl) m ropyl) methacryla ethacrylamide lac mide lactate)-ptate)-polye olyethylene g thylene glycol 10000-p lycol poly(N-(2-h oly(hydroxyp ydroxypropyl)mropyl)methacryla ethacrylamide lac mide lactate) triblock copolymers, prepared byusing a combination of physical and chemical crosslinkingmethods are studied as protein delivery systems.By changing the polymer concentration, hydrogels withdifferent mechanical properties are formed, indicating thathydrogel cross-linking density, mesh size, swelling anddegradation behavior can be tuned. Proteins are releasedfrom these hydrogels by Fickian diffusion, and thediffusion rate can be tailored by the hydrogelcharacteristics. Furthermore, the loaded proteins arequantitatively released and the secondary structure andthe enzymatic activity of lysozyme were fully preserveddemonstrating the protein friendly nature of the studieddelivery system.Tate)
