Sintering fundamental characteristics and sinter pot testing of a kind of Canada iron ore is discussed in this paper. The experimental results show that the Canada iron ore has better sintering fundamental characteristics than HIXF or SCTF, has improved the sintering utilization coefficient and has no adverse effect on the drum index and the yield rate. The content of Al2O3 in sinter decreases by more than 0.2 percent as the 10 percent replacement of HIXF by the Canada iron ore, and about 0.06 percent as the same replacement of SCTF by Canada iron ore.
