摘要

Even though information technology plays a pivotal role in defining the success of organizations, many firms lack sufficientIT disaster recovery plans. Why is this so? One possible explanation concerns the personal disposition of the individualresponsible for the organization’s IT function. Our contention is that firms whose IT directors have low thresholds foruncertainty, long-term orientations, and low power-distance perceptions will have more robust IT disaster recovery plans.The purpose of this research is to describe a model and propose a series of hypotheses regarding the relationship between ITdirectors’ values and the extent of IT disaster recovery planning at their respective organizations.
