摘要

Reed’s original development of Reed’s law implies some possible extensions upon closerreading. Reed’s law is a law on network effects, similar to and built as an extension ofMetcalfe’s law. It describes how many groups may be formed from N users in an environmentthat provides for easy group formation. This paper looks at that original publication, andexamines openings where another law may be extended from Reed’s law, describing a possiblenetwork effect from increasing media richness in a network environment as opposed to nodes.The article is critiqued, opportunities examined, and the media richness law proposed.
