摘要

This study investigates the choice behavior of airlines of the husband and the wife for their family air travel. We surveyed approximately 300 couples leaving for Japan at the international airports in Taiwan. A stated choice experiment was also applied to the choice of the traditional full service carriers (FSCs) or the low-cost carriers (LCCs). The logit model was then estimated using the stated choice data to examine the influences of the airline attributes, monthly family income, and the sociodemographic characteristics of the husbands and the wives on the airline decisions. The impacts of certain variables on the husband’s airline choice are diverse to the effects of the same variables on the wife’s. Our study provides implications to different business model of airlines when targeting families as their customers.
