The fire of log pile is the most dangerous for the safety of log yard. Flame spread of log pile of larch is studied in a full-scale test apparatus. Through varying the experimental ambience, the transformation characteristic of heat release rate is researched, and the relation of heat release rate between temperature and O2 is analyzed. It is observed that there are many factors influence log fire spreading which include the acreage of the oil basin, exhaust capacity and accumulation quality. Once the combustion of log is to level off, the heat release rate is keeping in a constant. With the increasing of heat release rate, the field of temperature is going up. In the same time, O2 is in linear relation with the heat release rate. It will lay down a good foundation for further study in fire reconstruction of the whole log pile of larch fire.
