Simulation on Influencing Factors of 'Three Zone' Distribution in Goaf of Top Coal Caving Face

In order to learn about the trait of "three zone" distribution in goaf of top coal caving face, a new mathematical models of filtration flow fields in goaf were established by taking advantage of ventilation network theory. Numerical simulation on influencing factors of "three zone" was made and analyzed in adoption with the index of extreme wind velocity. The result indicates the form and sphere of "three zone" is concerned with air flow volume of working face, wind resistance of working face, mining movement velocity of working face, property of inbreak rock, air leakage volume and gas drainage lancway. With the increase of air flow volume of working face, air leakage volume into goaf, mining movement velocity of working face and wind resistance of working face, width of oxidation zone gets broadened. While lithology coefficient of adjoining rock increases, width of oxidation zone diminishes. Gas drainage laneway exerts vital influence on the form and distribution of "three zone". The oxidation zone will broaden after gas drainage laneway is excavated. The shorter is the distance between gas drainage laneway and air return laneway, the larger is the sphere of its influence, and the wider is the oxidation zone. The findings can provide significant instructions for the prevention of coal spontaneous combustion.
