With the rapid development of information technology,electronic book (e-book) appears as an outcome of the high-tech era. Various devices are built specifically for e-books,such as Amazon's Kindle and Sony's PPS-500,leading to a boost of popularity in the world With the unceasing development and updates of modern technologies,including the e-paper,multi-touch,WiFi,and audio support,the e-book has led a new tendency to education and publication industry that exceeds traditional books to some extent. This article summarizes the pros and cons of e-books in comparison with traditional printed books,and analysis its room for further improvement. E-book,as a representative product of the age,cannot separate from its cultural and historical background;instead,they have formed a reciprocal relationship,for mutual benefit and dependence.
