The cold tolerance of different persimmon varieties has an important significance for the northern limit zone of persimmon planting. By using the leakage conductance method with MDA content in plants, setting 5 different temperature gradient treatments (0 °C, -10 °C, -20 °C,-30 °C, -40 °C) under the temperature from 0 °C to-40 °C, the experiment mentioned in this paper conducted comparative determination to the cold resistance of eight sweet persimmon varieties. The results shoved that the branches' electrolyte leakage, MDA and proline content showed an apparent upward trend with temperature dropping. The order of cold resistance from strong to weak of the eight persimmon varieties was: Hing-chun 20, Jiro, Nishimura Early, Japan 1s', Zenjimaru, Xin Qiu, Yang Feng and Maekawa Jiro.
